Cristy Solomon, LM, CPM
Midwife
Cristy is passionate about making a difference in the health and wellness of her community. After over a decade as a school teacher and a doula, she enrolled in the Midwives College of Utah and earned a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery. She is a Licensed Midwife through the Medical Board of California and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North America Registry of Midwives (NARM).
Cristy brings experience in both home and birth center settings, having worked together with several home birth midwives and in high-volume birth centers in the Bay Area. The foundations of shared decision-making, true informed consent, and evidence-based information guide her care. She deeply values the experience of the families she works with, and her goal is to provide safe, holistic, compassionate midwifery care. Cristy feels strongly about social justice issues in health care, and believes having equitable access to midwifery care is a crucial part of reducing disparities in maternal health care.
Outside of birth work, Cristy and her husband are the proud parents of a very loving, hilarious, and busy little boy. They love to spend time outdoors adventuring together. Cristy is grateful for each family, each belly, and each baby she gets to know during such a transformative period. She’s thrilled to have the opportunity to join the California Birth Center team!
